Background and history

Raujan Government Technical School and College was established in the year 2021 under the project titled "Establishment of 1 Technical School and College (TSC) in 100 Upazilas".

Bangladesh entered the world market as a result of productivity and open market policies. Production techniques are changing rapidly all over the world. Technological change has made the world easier to navigate. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has an opportunity to make a significant contribution to keeping pace with the world. For the economic prosperity and social development of Bangladesh, the project entitled "Establishment of one Technical School and College (TSC) in 100 upazilas" was formulated considering the fact of contributing to the labor market by increasing the skills of the job aspirants as skilled human resource providers.

The main objectives of the project are: To expand vocational education and training by including a technical subject up to 6th-8th standard, creating scope for introduction of SSC (Vocational) and short training courses; Transforming the youth into skilled manpower with the aim of creating job opportunities in the country and abroad; Creating opportunities for self-employment of poor people for livelihood; and introduction of short training courses on 4 trade courses and 4 para trades and one technical subject from 6th to 8th standard at the proposed technical school level. The Directorate of Technical Education under the Ministry of Education is implementing the project in 100 upazilas of 64 districts of 8 divisions. A total of 108,000 students from class 6 to class 12 will study in SSC (Vocational) and HSC (Vocational) courses in 100 TSCs.
